Who We Are

Harmonious Life Systems is a Home and Community Based Service (HCBS) organization supporting Pennsylvanians with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Founded in 2016 by two Mental Health Professionals with over 25 years of industry experience, our team now consists of over 50 qualified, caring professionals, dedicated to helping participants pursue their own version of an Everyday Life.

What We Do

At Harmonious Life Systems, (HLS), we employ an eclectic methodology for behavior modification and skill development rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Positive Behavior Supports (PBS). Our approach empowers individuals to pursue personal goals at their own pace and enables us to recognize and address skill development barriers including socio-economic challenges as well as medical/mental health conditions.

Mental health is of particular concern because it affects a large percentage of the population we serve and may present challenges to progress and even cause regression in skills or behaviors. Tasked with assessing the impact of mental health on communication; social skills; and behaviors and developing plans to address them, HLS clinicians receive training in Dual Diagnosis competencies and are encouraged to pursue Dual Diagnosis Clinical Certification granted by The National Association of the Dually Diagnosed upon meeting requirements.

Further acknowledging the need for increased competency of staff supporting participants with both Intellectual/Developmental Disability and a mental health diagnosis, HLS has enhanced our DSP training curriculum and support our Direct Support Professional staff in pursuit of certification as well. This effort is part of our continued commitment to our participants to ensure we are prepared for the complexities of the challenges they face in pursuit of an “everyday life”.

WHO WE SERVE

HLS supports a diverse group of individuals with dynamic strengths and abilities who receive HCBS through the PA Waiver programs. Amongst our members are parents; college students and graduates; full and part time employees; entrepreneurs; visual and recording artists; writers; painters; volunteers, and self-advocates. Each one is an adult with dreams, goals and expectations who have entrusted us with the support needed to bring them into fruition.
